Android Event about Google on October 29

When news about Apple iPad Mini and Microsoft Surface have heated the tablet market, news about Google have lighted people’s eyes. The 32GB Nexus 7(Wifi only),3G-enabled Nexus 7(32GB) ,10-inch tablet Nexus 10,LG Nexus 4 and Jelly Bean 4.2 are all to be announced on October 29, which is undoubtedly a big surprise for us especially for Nexus 7 fans. Let’s just take the details later.
Nexus devices

Nexus 7
32GB Wi-fi Nexus 7 has already been spotted in Japan, and a screenshot reveals it is listed on Staples' business-centric storefront at $248.37, which is almost the same price as the current 16GB model.3G Nexus 7 is unveiled at TaiWan with the model of ME370TG,it adds 3G function compared to 32GB Wi-fi Nexus 7.The price of this version has not mentioned now and we may need to wait for Google’s announcement. Without question, the Nexus-brand tablets will compete directly with Apple's iPad Mini, and Amazon's Kindle Fire HD, and maybe Microsoft Surface RT.

Nexus 10
Yesterday I have reprinted the article which tells Google is building a 10-inch tablet with Samsung that’s probably going to be sold as the Nexus 10, not confirmed yet. Most interestingly, the device seems to be unveiled on October 29, too.

According to The Next Web, the Nexus 10 will run the Android 4.2 and feature a 10-inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolutions, 16:10 aspect ratio and almost 299 pixel per inch (PPI) density. What the product will cost or when it will hit stores have not been mentioned now. More details need to be told on the announce day. It will be probably a high-end device compared to the $199 Nexus 7, and the anticipated $99 Nexus 7.

LG Nexus 4

Rumor about LG Nexus 4 smartphone has confirmed and it will have a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon processor, a 4.7-in. display with 1280 x 768 resolution, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera (and 1.3-megapixel front-facing snapper) and a 2100mAh battery. The LG Nexus 4 will also be powered by Google’s new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, according to TNW.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
All these new devices will come with Android 4.2 on board, the next generation of Jelly Bean.It has been confirmed that Android 4.2 will use ‘Content in the center’ which will allow users to access Play Store content from a widget and ‘Tablet Sharing’ which will satisfy families and enterprise users’ demands by providing a simple and easy access to switch between several users on a tablet, each with their own email and apps. Android 4.2 is more likely to use by Google to compete with Apple iOS 6.

With the rumors of the new devices and new operating system, the Google event day has become very important. Let’s just wait for the Android Event about Google to get more information about these things.

update:It is really a pity that Google cancelled this press announcement out of  Hurricane Sandy, and we still need to wait.

A 10-inch Nexus tablet with Android 4.2 to be Released by Google on October 29?

Nexus 7
The end of this month promises to be full of tech news, as Apple has an event on Tuesday that could see the release of the iPad Mini, Microsoft launches Windows 8 on Friday, and Google has scheduled an Android event for the 29th. As you might expect, leaks are emerging about what the search giant is planning to announce at that event, including the long-expected larger sibling to its Nexus 7 tablet.

The Next Web is reporting that Google is working with Samsung on a 10-inch Nexus -- code-named "Manta" but possibly to be released as the Nexus 10 -- that will compete against the Apple iPad, Amazon Fire HD 8.9", and Windows RT tablets, including the Microsoft Surface.

The site says it's been tipped off on two intriguing specs the new Nexus will have. One is resolution: 2,560x1,600, which could work out to be a higher pixel density (around 300 pixels per inch) than the latest iPad with Retina Display offers. The tablet will also apparently ship with Android 4.2, which was once code-named Key Lime Pie, but which is now being referred to as Jelly Bean, just as Android 4.1 has been.

The Nexus probably won't be the only device announced on the 29th that will run Android 4.2, but it will probably be touted as the first tablet to have it. Whether the latest OS will offer enough novel features to make the Nexus 10 stand out in the ever-more-crowded full-size tablet market remains to be seen, but the success of the Nexus 7 suggests that Google would probably have another winner on its hands regardless.

Are you intrigued by a 10-inch Google Nexus tablet? Enough to buy one over another full-size slate? Let us know in the Talkback section below.

Google Nexus 7 vs Windows RT Surface: the New battle

Nexus 7 vs Surface RT
It is certain that Google Nexus 7 has made its great success at the beginning of its release, however, more and more new featured tablets’ joining in the market surely weaken the influence of Nexus 7. Needless to say, Amazon Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD and the upcoming iPad Mini are the old rivals. And a new member Microsoft Windows RT Surface has been preordered available now. So can Microsoft take the control of the hardware market like the software? Maybe, but it is hard to say. The important thing we faced maybe which one will we should take in reasonable thinking. So, let’s just have a look at these two tablets.
  • Price: Nexus 7 is priced at $199 for 8G and $249 for 16G.Surface RT starts at $499 for 32G without Black Touch Cover. The others are $599 for 32GB with Black Touch Cover,$699 for 64GB with Black Touch Cover.
  • Display: Surface RT sports a 10.6 inch ClearType Full HD capacitive multitouch display with a resolution of 1366x768 (148 ppi pixel density), absolutely prior to Nexus 7, sporting a 7 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (216 ppi pixel density).
  • Size: Surface RT measuring 9.3 mm thick and weighing 676 grams is slimmer and heavier than the Nexus 7, which comes 10.5 mm thick and weighs 340 grams.
  • Processor: Google Nexus 7 comes with a quad core 1.3 GHz quad core NVIDAI Tegra 3(T30L) while Microsoft Surface is equipped with a 1.4 GHz quad core NVIDAI Tegra 3(T30). The tablets' Tegra 3 chips are fraternal twins.
  • OS: Nexus 7 runs the latest and the most advanced Android OS Jelly Bean, bringing outstanding features like Project Butter, richer notifications, a new Voice Search feature, resizable widgets, Android Beam (using NFC technology, users can share data), Google Now (right information at right time), improved camera and many more.Surface RT runs on the Windows RT OS based on Windows 8, running only the Metro apps available through the Windows app store. The good news is it will include a version of Microsoft Office at no additional charge.
  • Camera: Nexus 7 comes with a 1.2MP front camera which can record 720p videos and facilitate video calling. Surface RT will come with two 720p HD LifeCams: a front facing and a rear facing, but there are no other details revealed by the company as far yet.
  • Storage: Nexus 7 comes in two versions – 8GB and 16GB, both with 1 GB RAM.And 32GB version will come. But, there is no micro SD card slot on Nexus 7.Surface RT also has two variants – 32GB and 64GB with a micro SD card slot and 2G RAM. In this term, Surface RT is better.
  • Connectivity: Nexus 7 supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and micro USB 2.0 while the Surface RT features dual MIMO antennae for strong Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth. Rumors said that Nexus 7 will have the 3G version.
  • Battery: Google Nexus 7 packs a 4325 mAh Li-ion battery whereas Surface RT comes with 3.15 W-h, both of the tables ‘use time can last approximately 8 hours.
After the comparison, we find that Surface RT is more suitable for business while Nexus 7 are more likely be a entertain tablet. Of course, the performance of Surface RT cannot be certain now, but it is probably designed for the business people.

Update:Now Google has doubled the storage of Nexus 7  and you can find three models of Nexus 7: $199 for 16G Wi-Fi,$249 for 32G Wi-Fi,upcoming $299 for 32 GB WiFi + Mobile data.

3G-based Google Nexus 7 Unveiled, the Same Price, More Powerful

Google Nexus 7 tablet has become the highest selling Android tablet in its history since going on sale on 27 July, Carphone Warehouse, the UK’s largest independent mobile retailer, said. Although new tablets, including the Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD, the upcoming iPad Mini and Microsoft Surface, are aroused with some attractive features, Nexus 7 still keeps its popularity. However, the lack of 3G function also alienates some people.

Luckily, thing has changed. Rumor that there will be a 3G-capable Nexus 7 tablet has confirmed by Taiwan's NCC, a certification agency, with the model of ME370TG.

 Nexus 7 3G

Details

The present model of Nexus 7 is ME370T, only supports Wi - Fi, providing two choices of 8 GB and 16 GB, but a 32 GB version has been leaked on the web just recently. There are two certain reasons that the ME370TG appeared in Taiwan NCC will be the 3G version of Google Nexus 7.First, the model has been added a “G”,and the other is this version will support the GSM/DCS/WCDMA/WLAN/bluetooth/NFC and so on.

3G Nexus 7
However, the 3G version has only the choice of 32 GB, which may mean that the price will not attractive. In addition, although the 3G version has been verified by the NCC, the releasing data is not sure, there is even the possibility that Google will set the price after the launching of Apple iPad Mini.

Released on October 24?

According to the blog BGR, Google will replace 16 gb version by 32 gb version with the same price of 249 dollars to enhance Nexus 7’s competitiveness for the upcoming iPad mini.As for the specific launching time, Rumor said the 3G-based Nexus 7 comes on October 24,the next day of   iPad mini apple releasing day. The 3G version appeared with 32GB storage this time may also mean that Google will debut the 3G version next week.

It is absolutely the good news for customers especially for Nexus fans that Google will release the 3G-based Nexus 7 .If the 3G version is the same price as the present 16GB version, offering the bigger 32 GB storage, the core competitiveness of Nexus 7 will without doubt been strengthened and it will be the selling point, too.

3 Best Free Antivirus Apps for Android to Keep Your Android Security

Antivirus Apps Android
Since Android platform is open, hackers can exploit that to invade the mobile operating system to get the users privacy. From malicious apps appearing in the Google Play app store to mobile malware spreading via SMS, the security threats make people more cautious about Android security issues. Meanwhile, with the number of Android smartphones and tablets in use increasing daily, it’s indeed very essential that users protect their personal data like photographs, credit card numbers, passwords and other such sensitive information.

Of course you can do the most basic security precautions, like password-protecting your device and setting it to auto-lock after a specified period of time ,and most Android devices also offer a variety of unlock options, including a numeric PIN, a password or a graphical pattern.

But you need to do more to ensure your android device completely security. And the vast numbers of antivirus apps available for the platform can enhance the safety, but here you can get three suggestions when you are looking for the further protection of your android devices.

Antivirus Free

Anti-Virus Free is developed by AVG offering protection for both smartphones and tablets against malware and browsing protection to prompt you when visiting a malicious website. Besides, its SMS/text messaging protection can scan messages to ensure they're safe, and various remote tools are built in the app, including device locating, alarms, locking and wiping, and scanning. There is a malware scanner that analyzes data files as well as apps, a task killer, a tune-up utility to help save battery usage and storage space, and a personal data wiper to clear cache.
Antivirus Free
Anti-Virus Free is a fairly solid security app offering all the popular features for free though the user interface is kind of confusing. If you want the premium edition (for more features or the tablet app) you can get it with just a small one-time payment.

Norton AntiVirus & Security

Free malware protection and remote locking are provided by Norton Mobile Security Lite. You can not only perform malware scans on app downloads and updates, but also run app and SD card scans on demand or schedule scans daily, weekly or monthly with the app. One thing you should note is that though Norton checks for virus database updates weekly by default, it can be changed to daily (or monthly).
Norton AntiVirus & Security
The simple and straightforward interface of Norton Mobile Security may attract you. For this version, there are only two main shortcuts accessible on the main screen of the app: one for the anti-theft and another for anti-malware. But the device's Menu button will give you a few more shortcuts, such as to view the activity log or access the update or notification settings.

Norton Mobile Security doesn't offer as much as other free apps unless you buy the premium service to get much more.

Lookout Security & Antivirus

Lookout Security & Antivirus is absolutely one of the most acclaimed and trusted names when it comes to Android security. All the basic protection methods are free offered, and more options are available if you buy the premium version. Lookout performs a full scan on your phone for malicious apps and will automatically back up your data. Even you’ve lost your device, Lookout will help you track you device.
Lookout Security & Antivirus
The premium version will protect your phone from virus or malicious sites that intend to get around your phone’s security. However, it will need a subscription plan of US$3.00 per month.

When you almost do anything you like on your android device, just don’t forget to protect your data .And installing antivirus app is definitely your option. You can choose one above mentioned or find another one.

Nook HD vs Amazon Kindle Fire HD vs Nexus 7, which one is your thing?

7-inch tabletSince Barnes & Noble unveiled its new tablets Nook HD and Nook HD+, the new competition to make the best 7-inch tablet appears to be a three-company race: Barnes & Noble with the Nook; Google with its Nexus 7 and Amazon with Kindle Fire HD.Certainly it is indeed a blessing for all the customers who just want to own a android tablet when the new similar tablet is announced for the more options. But undoubtedly it has made us at a loss to decide which one to buy or order. So, we just need to differentiate them and choose our most proper one.

First thing ,price?

  • Google Nexus 7: $199 for 8G and $249 for 16G
  • Amazon Kindle Fire HD: $ 199 for 16G and $249 for 32G
  • Nook HD: $199 for 8G and $229 for 16G with the up to 64GB expanded storage.
As to the price, I think all the three are almost equal.

Check out the screen quality
  • Google Nexus: 1280×800 HD display (216 ppi), Back-lit IPS display, Scratch-resistant Corning glass, weighs 340g
  • Kindle Fire HD: 1280×800 resolution (216ppi), HD display with polarizing filter and anti-glare technology for rich color and deep contrast from any viewing angle, weighs 395g
  • NOOK HD: 1440 x 900 pixel resolution, 243 ppi, fully laminated screen with no air gaps reduces glare and provides extra-wide viewing angles, weighs only 315g.
Nook HD definitely has the best display for its highest resolution for wonderful for video viewing and text reading, although the experience on Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD are also good. Also it is the lightest one which makes it more comfortable for traveling with a tablet.

Have a look at the basic spec

  • Google Nexus 7: 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 with 1G RAM running Android 4.1Jelly Bean;1.2MP front-facing camera; battery can last 9 hours video or10 hours of web browsing or reading; the input/output includes Micro USB, Microphone, NFC (Android Beam);supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth
  • Amazon Kindle Fire HD: Dual-core 1.2GHz OMAP4460 with 1G RAM running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich;1.3 megapixels front-facing HD camera;11 hours continuous use are available; USB 2.0 (micro-B connector),Micro-HDMI (micro-D connector) port and built-in microphone are supported for input/output; supports public and private Wi-Fi networks or hotspots that use the 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n standard with support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 security using password authentication; does not support connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks.
  • Nook HD: 1.3 GHz Dual-Core, OMAP 4470, 512MB RAM for 8GB, 1GB RAM for16GB;runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich; battery can last 10.5 hours reading, 9 hours video; Input/output ports covers universal 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, charging port, expandable microSD slot, HDMI port and Dual stereo speakers; Supports Wi-Fi® (802.11b/g/n)
Through the specs described above, we can found that Nook HD and Amazon Kindle Fire HD are better than Nexus 7 in terms of processor and battery life. Kindle Fire HD is also the best one speaking of the Input/output ports and its HD camera indeed focuses people’s attention. Nexus 7 runs the most advanced android system while the others run the ICS and its special NFC service can be the good selling point. Nook HD seems no obvious advantages in these specs.

We can get the entertainment from…

  • Google Nexus 7: the entire Google Play app market, a wider, better selection of games and software across the board. Google Play Store (books, comic books, magazines/newspapers, movies), about 600,000 apps, over 4 million books
  • Amazon Kindle Fire HD: Amazon Store (books, comic books, magazines/newspapers, movies), 51,000 apps, Whispersync with Voice pairs reading with an audiobook,X-Ray, FreeTime, etc. Over 950,000 books
  • Nook HD: Barnes & Noble store(books, comic books, magazines/newspapers, movies), about 10,000 apps, Nook magazine, Nook Video, Nook Catalog for shopping, Over 2.5 million books
For entertainment, Kindle fire HD maybe the most appropriate one, but if you just want to more games and apps, Nexus 7 is absolutely the right choice. Nook HD is more suitable for a family or kids for its featured kids’ books. Of course, for reading magazine, Nook HD is better than the others.

See what formats the devices Supported

  • Google Nexus 7:ePUB, PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, WEBP, AAC, FLAC, MP3, MIDI, WAV, OGG, AMR, MP4
  • Amazon Kindle Fire HD: Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively, Audible Enhanced format (AAX), DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, non-DRM AAC, MP3, MIDI, PCM/WAVE, OGG, WAV, MP4
  • Nook HD: PDF, ePUB, DRP, ePIB, FOLIO, OFIP, CBZ, TXT, RTF, XLS, DOC, PPT, PPS, PPSX, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, LOG, CSV, EML, ZIP, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, MP4, M4A, 3GP, AAC, MP3, FLAC, WAV, OGG, AMR, MP4, 3GP, WEBM
We can found that Nook HD can support the most formats. And since the others cannot support most video formats, when watching the other format video,it just needs some apps or programs to convert it.

Last…

In a summery, Nexus 7 is also the most advanced tablet in technology,Amazon Kindle fire is good one to have the enjoyment at your part time,Nook HD has the best display view and it is of course the best one for kids and also for magazines. I think you must have your decision now, and just take it.

Nook HD and Nook HD+ Unveiled: Another Fierce Competition at Tablet Market

Nook HDAfter the order of Amazon Kindle Fire HD, Barnes & Noble announced its Nook HD (7") and HD+ (9") tablets, available for pre-order today and shipping in late October. It is obvious that the joint of Nook HD exacerbated the intensely competitive tablet markets since the release of Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD.

With the same size 7 inch as Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD at the moment holds the highest resolution 1440*900 among the 7 inch tablet market with a unexpected 243 ppi, which can attract more people for the highest quality text, graphic and video experience on a 7 inch tablet. Nook HD also sports a solid fighting weight at 315 grams, which compares quite favorably to the Nexus 7 (340 grams) and the Kindle Fire HD (395 grams). The tablet uses a 1.3Ghz dual-core processor which should be able to handle resource intensive games. The price of Nook HD starts at $199 for an 8 GB model and $229 for a 16 GB version.

Regarded as the lightest and low-priced full HD tablet ever by Barnes & Noble, Nook HD+ plays in the higher-end tablet market and boasts a 9-inch 1,920 * 1,280 pixel screen with a 256 pixel per inch density, which comes nipping at the retina iPad's 264ppi. It weighs 515 grams, or about 18 ounces, has a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and starts at $269 for 16 GB and $299 for 32 GB.

Both of the two models Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support and connect for free in all Barnes & Noble stores.  And the other main features about the new Nook tablets are:

  • over 3 million books
  • Enjoy your favorite magazines and newspapers on a gorgeous HD display!
  •  NOOK Apps™ supplies about 6,000 apps for everyone — from games, news, and entertainment to business, productivity, and lifestyle.
  • One of the largest and most diverse collections of interactive books for kids of all ages.
  • Nook Video: Offers users standard HD movies and TV shows for streaming or downloading from Disney, Sony, HBO and more.
  • Nook Catalog of Shopping
  • Convenient Newspaper Experience
  • Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Expanded storage(up to 64GB)
  • Up to 10.5 hours of continuous reading and up to 9 hours of video watching for HD,HD+ boasts up to 10 hours and 9 hours
The disappoint thing about the nook is that neither nook tablet has a camera, that means you cannot enjoy the fun of taking photos. Actually, this function is really we want today. Also, you may notice that there are fewer apps at Nook store than Amazon and Google play, and since the interface is unrecognizable as Android, users won't have access to the Play Store. Of course, you can solve the problem by rooting it if you're comfortable at the command-line and don't mind voiding your warranty though.

Undoubtedly, the Nook HD is more likely designed for family and you can find there are something for kids. Whether the Nook HD's great display is enough to make it the tablet to beat, it needs time to answer it.

What is Exactly Android Operating System?

Android Os
Android is no doubt the most widely used operating system in the world by smartphone and tablet producers. And you can find there are many new android devices like Google Nexus 7, Amazon Kindle Fire HD, Samsung galaxy s3, HTC one x, etc, in this year. Since the android operating system has become hotter, what is exactly android system? Later let’s just have a better understanding of it.

Origin

Android is a Linux-based operating system developed by Google in conjunction with the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 86 hardware, software, and telecommunication companies dedicated to advancing open standards for mobile devices. It is designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

However, the origin of it is not Google but a group of people headed by Andy Rubin in a company known as Android Inc, which is not famous at that moment. Android Inc. became known only when Google purchased it back in 2005. The company’s intentions of acquiring Android Inc. became known in 2007 when the Open Handset Alliance revealed itself to the general public.

Android Version

Since the release of Android beta in November 2007, the first commercial version, Android 1.0, was released in September 2008 run by HTC Dream. Since April 2009, a few versions have been released: Android 1.5 Cupcake, Android 1.6 Donut, Android 2.0 & 2.1 Éclair, and Android 2.2 Froyo, Android 2.3.x Gingerbread, Android 3.x Honeycomb, Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich, and the recent update Android OS Android 4.1.x Jelly Bean, which is used by Nexus 7.

Features

Android uses single- and multi-touch inputs like swiping, tapping, pinching and reverse pinching to manipulate on-screen objects as user interface and provides a fluid touch interface. Internal hardware such as accelerometers, gyroscopes and proximity sensors are used by some applications to respond to additional user actions.

Android devices boot to the homescreen, which is similar to the desktop found on PCs, and is the primary navigation and information point on the device. Always present along the top of the screen is a status bar, showing information about the device and its connectivity. The open and customizable nature of the operating system allows it to be used on other electronics such as laptops , netbooks, smartbooks and the like.

Android also supports connectivity features like Bluetooth, WiMax, GSM, LTE, NFC, SMS and MMS messaging. Another thing need mention is Android has its own web browser.

Applications

There are a large amount of apps that are available for Android. Some apps are free and some can be acquired at the Android Market Place called Google Play or at the Amazon App Store, or by downloading and installing the application's APK file from a third-party site. You can find many free android apps at Google Play and also you can find the most popular apps.

Security

The sandbox in Android applications does not have access to the rest of the system's resources, unless access permissions are granted by the user when the application is installed. Besides, several security firms have released antivirus software for Android devices like Lookout Mobile Security,AVG Technologies, etc.

In a summery, Android is one of the popular operating systems that runs many smart phones and tablet computers today. Just like PC that need an operating system like Windows, these mobile devices also require and operating system to function. And now the most advanced one is Jelly Bean and there must be the more advanced one in the near future.
